A Preview of the Ford 2014 Mustang
If you`re a classic “Stang” enthusiast, you`ll be glad to know that Ford recently released its closely guarded specs concerning the 2014 Mustang. The buzz is, however, that fans of this classic model shouldn`t be expecting too many changes or upgrades from this year`s current, already upgraded model.
Among next year`s changes, one of the biggest ones is cosmetic, with two different colors on board. Ruby Red Metallic will replace Red Candy Metallic and Oxford White will take the place of High Performance White.
If you`re already a Mustang lover, you`re probably also aware of the fact that 2014 marks the iconic model`s 50th anniversary. So far, Ford hasn`t yet publicly announced whether there will be a special 50th anniversary emblem adorning the 2014 model or even a special anniversary edition available.
Here are some of the features we can look forward to on the 2014 Mustang:
5.0L V8 Engine
If you`re a fan of the original Mustang 5.0, you`ll love the 5.0L engine that features standard 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. This powerful engine also features a variable twin independent camshaft timing system, in addition to an aluminum-constructed engine block and a cold-air induction system to help boost power. This engine also features a compression ratio of 11:1, as well as cylinder heads that are specially designed to channel and optimize airflow.
GT Track Package
The 2014 Mustang has a GT Track Package that includes features such as a Torsen brand helical differential that has a 3.73:1 axle ratio. The GT pack also has a Brembo friction upgrade, as well as upgraded brakes (both rear and front) and booster, front modules at the corners, aluminum wheels, a tire mobility pack and electronic stability control tuning.
Additionally, the GT-500 model will offer a revved-up 662 horsepower engine, in addition to heated seats (except for models with Recaro chairs). You`ll also be able to get special new “blackout” packages for both the V6 and the GT models. These will offer black mirror caps, black louvers, black-accented wheels and a black deck lid.
LED Sequential Rear Tail Lamps
The 2014 Mustang features a distinctive signature look in lighting with cool red LED tail lamp lighting in a surround style. Additionally, the turn signals light up in sequence. The tail lamp and brake lighting both use state-of-the-art LED technology.
Selectable Electronic Power Assist Steering
The 2014 Mustang boasts a streamlined, selectable electronic power assist steering system (EPAS) that will automatically adjust itself to any speed. It also improves fuel efficiency by offering precise steering control without the use of a belt driven hydraulic system. The EPAS system offers three settings: standard, sport and comfort, so you can choose the setting that`s right for your current road conditions no matter where you are.
Whether you`re looking at modified cars or searching through other sources for the car of your dreams, if you`re a true car lover, you`ll definitely want to check out the 2014 Ford Mustang. With its iconic design, proven track record of quality and dependability and high resale value, the Ford Mustang is a hands-down winner for everyone, from the weekend road warrior to the passionate classic car enthusiast.
